Anticipation the fuel for life.

12/14/2021

John 14:3
"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."

Anticipation can be a powerful force to make us prepare for the coming of the Lord, or it can be negative force to create doubt and fear! Either way, it drives us!
Picture
God's people have always lived with a deep sense that God is and will be doing good things that will shape our future. Therefore, believers look forward to what is coming. This anticipation marked believers in the Old Testament as they looked forward to the Messiah's arrival, and it marks believers today as we await His final return.

So, why do I always get a bit melancholy at this time of year? Do you? I mean I'm excited about all the traditions, seeing family and friends, lights on the tree and all the things that go with Christmas. So why the sadness? I didn't know. Then, it occurred to me, I don't have that spirit of anticipation I had as a child. I had no idea what Christmas morning would have in store for me. I believed in Santa until I was 12 or 13 years old. Truth. We lived in the country and had little outside influence. My Mom was amazing at keeping secrets. We never saw where the packages were hid. I mean with five kids you'd think we would have found them at least once.

We had a huge family and it was always a surprise when cousins came from far away. I anticipated snow and usually we got it. Everyone seemed happy. We sang. We ate. We played with our new gifts and fell into bed exhausted.

As I grew older, I realized there was no Santa. If people needed something they bought it. We were told to wait until Christmas if we needed something. Socks were anticipated. It occured to me that the anticipation of Christmas is what I was missing. So, reading through Luke everyday this month I am once again beginning to  feel this sense of anticipation. What is God going to do this Christmas? I think He is up to something that will surprise us all.

2022 New You

Isaiah 40:31
"but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Picture
I don't shop much. People give me a lot of hand-me-downs and I am appreciative. Going to the Mall this year was overwhelming. I was constantly looking at the directory, and the thought occurred to me, "I wish life was this easy to navigate." My next thought was, "Life may not be easy to navigate, but God and a coach can really help."  I know because I have both.

My life really started to change over a year ago. I knew I wanted more out of life, not just for myself, but for others as well. I wanted to leave a legacy and lead others to significance. In order to lead others, we must first know where we are going and how to get there. Life is a series of decisions. The decisions we make on a daily basis are determinants of our tomorrows. If we don't like something about our life today, we can probably trace the outcome back to something we decided in our past. To make new decisions we need new information. Sometimes, the information is about ourselves. If I don't know that what I am doing is hindering my success , then, I will keep repeating the same behavior. If I get new information and become enlightened to the point I want to make changes, then I can move forward.

This year make an investment in yourself. Decide that what you don't know may be hindering you. A few meeting times with a coach and my blindspot was revealed. Then, I had new decisions to make--but I didn't make them blindly. I had new eyes in which to see my future. You can too.

ACTION STEP: Everyday is filled with new opportunities. Thanks be to God even His mercies are new every morning. We live in a day of information overload. Just sifting through the information we get is exhausting. My coach always says, "Success leaves clues." Find someone who is successfully doing what you want to do and then follow their clues. Look at what they are doing right and do that. Look at what they are doing wrong and don't do that.

Life is what you make of it. I believe in you and you need to believe in yourself.

Fishers of men.

Matthew 4:18-21
"18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen . 19 "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will send you out to fish for people." 20 At once they left their nets and followed him. 21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, Mark 1:14-20 14 After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. 15 "The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!" 16 As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen . 17 "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will send you out to fish for people." 18 At once they left their nets and followed him. 19 When he had gone a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets. 20 Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him."

Luke 5:2

"2 He saw at the water's edge two boats, left there by the fishermen , who were washing their nets. John 21:2-3 2 Simon Peter, Thomas (also known as Didymus), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together. 3 "I'm going out to fish," Simon Peter told them, and they said, "We'll go with you." So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing."

Luke 5:4-6

"4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch." 5 Simon answered, "Master, we've worked hard all night and haven't caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets." 6 When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break."

The Christmas season is the perfect time to witness to others about Jesus. People often feel stressed, alone and depressed. We, you and I have the answer to every single problem that we could ever have. None of us are so different from others in that, we do not need to feel loved and want to belong. Almost everyone has heard of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. The Gospel in action meets our every need. Think about the word of God. Feed the hungry. Cloth the naked. Help those who can not help themselves. We are to be the word of God in action and there is no better time than right here at Christmas. God is still wanting to catch the fish. He doesn't tell us to clean fish, He simply says He will make us "Fishers of men." He even makes us able fisherman, then He cleans them up.

This Christmas give the gift that was so freely given to you. Give the gift that cost Jesus everything, but was free to you and I. The Gospel doesn't just mean "good news" it literally means, "good news, too good to be called true news." That's right the gospel of Jesus Christ is news too good to be true, but it is!

ACTION STEP:  The key to this passage, in my mind, is the fact that God calls his first disciples to continue to be who they already are.  He doesn’t call them to become something they are not in order to follow him. They will not completely abandon their identities as fisherman. They will now be “fishers of men.”

I think God calls us all in the same way. We each have been drawn towards certain interests and certain kinds of work. When Christ calls us to follow him, he calls us to go deeper into those interests not abandon them completely.

If we are writers, he calls us to write for him.

If we love kids, maybe we’re called to love kids for him.

If we love numbers and spreadsheets, maybe Christ is calling us to use those talents and interests in service of his Church.

Invite someone to come to your table, then simple offer who you are.

I believe in you and you need to believe in yourself.

What do you have a taste for?

Psalm 34:8
"Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!"
Picture
We all have a personal taste. The Bible tells us to taste and see the Lord is good. Most of us will inconvenience ourselves to go get that ice cream or coffee or pizza, even if it's across town, the middle of the night or too much money. Why? We want it! How bad do you want to write that book? Speak at that conference? Make that sale? When you know what you want and set your intentions, then the "How to?" will follow.

I wanted to write a better book than my last two. I wanted to become a better speaker. I wanted a higher income so that I could fund the Gospel. I wanted more than anything to help people. The first person I had to help was myself. So, I got a coach. It was a life changer. I want to help you, change your life too and then, you can help others.

I believe God gives us a taste for things and the devil will too. When we get focused on the voice of God and what He wants for our life, the battle is half won. We lose a taste for all the devil has to offer us when we are focused on what God wants. Sometimes, we just need help getting focused on the right thing. Where focus goes, vision flows and energy goes. Quit wasting energy! Get focused. Contact me at www.renaperozich.com

Divine Detours

Proverbs 16:9
"In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps."

Picture
I began a course in October of 2020 to learn how to help more people in my congregation. I decided that if I wanted to be a good shepherd and lead my flock, that I needed a clear path to take them on. So, I enrolled in 83K Academy. It was a course to learn how to be a Masters Coach. I was to learn how to write a book, public speak and run a business. That was a lot. It was hard. The paper work, writing and watching videos was not hard, it was the personal reflection and vulnerability that I had to have to participate in the class that challenged me. That was tough. I had great classmates that encouraged me. It was a life-changing experience.

What I learned has changed my life, but not like I had expected. I had planned my course, (Proverbs 16:9) but the Lord established my steps in a different direction. This direction was so much better than I had planned. Yes, I graduated and am able to do what I set out to do, but so much more. I found me. I found my voice. I found the stumbling block in my life and was able to remove it by the power of the Holy Spirit. Interesting fact? I didn't know it was there. It took a coach to dig around and find what was causing me to stumble. God had a divine detour for me.

Maybe, God has one for you? Contact me to see if we might be a good fit for coaching at www.renaperozich.com

Bread of Life

John 6:51
"I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

Picture
We all have something to offer others. The thing that sets us apart is how it looks, how it taste, and how accessible it is. See, when Jesus said He was bread, people understood Him, Bread was what sustained them. Bread was something that they needed to live. In the culture of their day, bread was truly "the bread of life."

Jesus knew how to talk to people. Jesus knew how to connect with people. Jesus knew what people needed, because he cared about people. He met them on common ground. This is a key to being a servant. Jesus is know to be, "the servant of the world", "the greatest servant of all." When we know what Jesus knows, we can do what Jesus did.

Jesus didn't have a self-esteem problem. He knew His parents loved Him and He knew His Heavenly Father loved Him. He knew His purpose. He had confidence in His ability through God to fulfill that purpose.

We are much like Jesus. I mean we were all created in the image of God. We all need to have self-confidence, God confidence and someone to believe in us, someone in our corner that will never leave us.

This is why I know that having a coach makes all the difference in the world. Having a coach makes the impossible to us, seem possible. In a world where no one believes anyone or in anyone--it's nice to know that someone really has our best interest at heart. Someone wants the best for us.

So, this holiday season, I encourage you to be the bread. What I mean is, be nourishment for others. Take yourself to the table of fellowship and be willing to be broken, so that others can be made whole.

Get Focused!

Romans 12:2
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."
Picture
We all focus on something. For some, their focus is on avoiding work, others focus on work. Then, their are those that focus on themselves, while others are focused on serving, protecting or building others. Where we focus, our energy flows and success follows. We all spell success differently. Personally, I spell success fulfilling my future and purpose for which God created me. My energy flows towards me when I am focused on helping and serving others be all they can be. That's exactly what I want to do this week, focus on helping you consider hiring me as your personal coach. We all need one, we just don't know it. Few people know the path to success and even fewer know that life can be more than what they see--it can be what they dream.

Trying to earn what was given as a gift. #5

Ephesians 2:8
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,"

Picture
This is the last of my series on, "Trying to earn what as given as a gift." I pray this has been a blessing. If you would like to be coached personally or ministerially I would love for you to schedule a session with me by going to my website www.renaperozich.com and picking a time and date. Start the New Year with a new and improved version of you. Perhaps ask for my 3 or 6 month package for a Christmas present from a loved one or child who has no idea what you want. It will be the gift that gives back to them for eternity and may even improve your relationship with them and others. If we want to help others, often time we must help ourselves first. That's a gift.

John Piper says there are three kinds of people when it comes to missions:
1. Those who GO to the missions field
2. Those who SEND others to the field, and support them with prayer and finances
3. Those who are DISOBEDIENT.

Research indicates 80% of evangelicals in the US know they are called to evangelize, but 61% have admitted to not having a spiritual conversation with anyone for the past six months.

Our hesitation to evangelize rests on our unawareness of the supernatural power of the gospel. This is why this weeks entire series is so important. Again, if you need training through a coach contact me. I've got over 30 years of experience and was trained by America's #1 Confidence Coach Dr. Keith Johnson where I received my certification as a Masters Coach.

I believe creating an awareness of the power of the gospel, is one of the ways to overcome our hesitation to preach the gospel.

After all the Gospel fulfills God’s desired Purpose for all of us.

The Bible is known by many different names. God’s Word, His Revelation to Man, His Love Letter to Man, His Revelation to Us, The expressed divine will of God and so on. The list is endless. No matter how we choose to call it, but God has a purpose for every word in the Bible and those words have power, our minds cannot fathom.

“So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)

You might say Isaiah is talking about God’s word, not the gospel. Truth be told God’s word is the gospel and the gospel is the word of God! A common misunderstanding is the gospel is found only in the Synoptic Gospels and the book of John. But if you read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation you will see although the content is different from one book to another, the theme remains the same throughout the 66 books. Gospel is that theme. The Bible presents it in three parts.
A. Man is a sinner and condemned to suffer in the lake of fire for eternity, (Genesis – Joshua)
B. God’s unfailing love for the man despite man’s unfaithfulness and insensitive attitude towards God, (Judges – Malachi)
C. God sending his son as a ransom for the salvation of many, (Matthew – Revelation)

The purpose of the gospel is to convince sinners to repent.

So, if the gospel is the all-powerful word of God it certainly can convict the sinners but only if we tell them!

Here is point #2 and #3 as promised:

2. The Gospel has the Power to TransformThe gospel has power to transform people inwardly. The Old Testament and the New Testament both mention individuals, communities and even entire nations that were transformed by hearing the gospel.

A. The Ninevites:
“The Ninevites believed God. They declared a fast, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth.” (Jonah 3:1-10)

B. Zacchaeus:
“But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.” (Luke 19:8)

C. The Samaritan Woman:
“Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people,  “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” (John 4:28)

D. The Samaritan Community:
“So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. And because of his words many more became believers.” (John 4:40-41)

All of us are familiar with the story of Nicky Cruse. Nevertheless, it’s a story worth telling again and again, because it tells us the transformational power of the gospel.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Nicky’s parents were drug addicts and spiritists. They abused Nicky physically and verbally when he was a small boy. At the age of 15, he fled to New York City and joined the notorious “Mau-Mauz” Gang. Very soon he became their leader.

Then one day David Wilkerson came preaching to the streets where Nicky and his gang were active. David told Nicky “Jesus loves you.” Nicky threatened to kill the preacher but surrendered his life to God several weeks after.

Today Nicky travels around the world sharing his testimony with the masses. He is also the president of Nicky Cruz Outreach, and Executive Producer of TRUCE, an international discipleship and evangelism ministry.  The Wall Street Journal once described him as the “Billy Graham of the streets.” Talk about a transformation!
I wonder where will be Nicky if David never told him about Jesus? Did David know the message he preached will transform Nicky to be the powerful man of God he is now? How many people will be still lost today if Nicky didn’t meet David? We don’t know.

Likewise, we do not know what God will do through the lives of people we touch with the gospel of Christ. But we do know the gospel has the power to transform the worst sinners, (1 Timothy 1:15). Therefore we must preach it to our neighbors, friends, colleagues, and relatives about Christ.

3. No one can stop or hold back the GospelIn spite of human resistance throughout the centuries, the gospel still continues to reach out to sinners in the darkest corners of the world. The Bible says,
“Now those who had been scattered by the persecution in connection with Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch, telling the message only to Jews.” (Acts 11:19)

The more the society attempts to stop the gospel from spreading, the faster and further it spreads. That is the power of the gospel we heard. There are many stories pertaining to its unstoppable nature. Among them is the story of a Chinese preacher, who preached for 07 years with nothing but few pages he managed to tear off from his Bible before it was confiscated by the Chinese Red Army.

In the year 1966, Mao Zedong ordered confiscation of all the Bibles in the country in order to be burnt later. The Red Army executed the order immediately. They went from house to house forcing the residents to surrender their Bibles. Christians who refused were beaten severely, arrested or even put to death.

When the soldiers came to a certain preacher’s house, he was happened to give his worn out Bible to them without any hesitation. Knowing the man before them is a preacher, the soldiers searched the entire house thoroughly but did not find a trace of any other Bibles. They left the preacher believing they got the only Bible he had. Unknown to soldiers however this preacher had torn off a few pages from his Bible before it was taken away from him. Armed with those few pages he preached the gospel for the next 07 years and won masses for Christ!

There’s no force in heaven, earth or hell capable of stopping the advancement of the gospel as long as we preach it.

Only we can stop the advancement of the gospel by not preaching it.

In fact, Paul said,

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” (Romans 10:14)

In some countries, Christians don’t preach the gospel because they fear persecution, (state-sponsored sometimes). But in the US persecution is not an issue at all because the constitution affirms and protects our right to evangelize.

In my personal experience, most of the time people don’t preach the gospel because of barriers that exist only in their minds. Nervousness is one such barrier. Did you know the only way to overcome nervousness in preaching the gospel is to preach it the way you know it? Because a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Fear of rejection is another reason why people don’t preach the gospel. It’s important to remember we are not looking forward to converting people.

Conversion is the work of the Holy Spirit. We are called to preach it.

We must also on the lookout for opportunities for spiritual conversations that come on our way. In Acts 2:37 the crowds asked Peter, “Brothers what shall we do?” Peter seized the opportunity immediately and won 3,000 converts in less than 24 hours!

We come across such opportunities every day. It can be someone whose spouse has just walked out on their marriage, A parent with a child hanging between life and death in a hospital bed, a person diagnosed with terminal cancer. All of these are opportunities for personal evangelism because a drowning man will clutch even at a straw, (except that Jesus is not a straw). So, let us be Christians of opportunity because the gospel is unstoppable. Let’s give the gift we were so freely given.

Trying to earn what was given as a gift. #4

12/2/2021

Romans 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Picture
Jesus is calling all of us to lay down our lives for the sake of the Gospel to share the gift that was freely given. There are 3 reasons we must preach the gospel-good news, too good to be called True News. Today I share one point and tomorrow I will share the other two points.
1. The Gospel fulfills God’s desired PurposeThe Bible is known by many different names.
The Bible presents it in 03 parts.
Today Christians have many excuses for not preaching the gospel. Let’s consider the most common excuses.
A. People will not listen to my Message:
Hilariously this excuse is based on Isaiah 53:1 – When taken out of context, it sounds as if Isaiah is saying it’s futile to preach the gospel because nobody wants to listen. Isaiah is actually saying that the Gentiles accepted the message which was rejected by the Jews.
B. I am not baptized in the Holy Spirit:
This is a misinterpretation of Acts 2:41. Peter did not win 3,000 people before he was baptized by the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. But that doesn’t mean he never preached the gospel before.
God spoke through a Donkey and it wasn’t baptized by the Holy Spirit! (Numbers 22:28) The baptism of the Holy Spirit is important. But we shouldn’t wait for it before preaching the gospel because so many souls are perishing while we wait.
In the other hand if one hesitates to witness now, what’s the guarantee he or she will witness after the spirit baptism? There are many individuals that are baptized by the Spirit but don’t witness.
C. I lack the Gift of Healing and Miracles:
Signs and wonders are important manifestations of the gospel. But the Bible doesn’t forbid you from witnessing without them. God can use you to perform signs and wonders if you believe, (Mark 16:17-18). But the gospel can save with or without miracles.
So then, don’t permit false assumptions, misinterpretations of scripture and your personal shortcomings to prevent you from preaching the gospel because its supernatural power exceeds your limitations by far.

Tomorrow, I will post points #2-#3.

Trying to earn what was given as a gift. #3

Romans 5:15
"But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many."
Picture
Today, is day three of my sharing with you on the free gift of salvation. I hope you are enjoying these and maybe even sharing with friends and family. It is an easy way to evangelize. The message I preached can be found at www.restorationchurchintl.org in the archive from November 28, 2021.

Paul said, Romans 1:18-19 For the wrath of God is [already] revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

Notice it says it’s manifest in them, not to them, for God has shown it unto them. God has put in every single person who has ever breathed an intuitive knowledge that they are a sinner and that they deserve rejection instead of acceptance. We don’t need to tell people this; they already know it.
We aren’t called to convict people of their sin but to convince them that the only way they can obtain righteousness, or right standing, with God is through putting faith in what Jesus did for them, not through something they’ve done.

Let’s look at Luke 18:9-14 to verify this:
And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Are we like the Pharisee or the publican?

I’m not talking about our actions, I am talking about our trust.

Do we trust in what we do for the Lord, or what He has done for us?

When was the last time you shared Jesus with someone? Is there someone that won't be in Heaven when you get there? What about that person? Do you need to share Jesus with them? This Christmas give them the gift that will keep on giving throughout eternity. Give them Jesus.

I believe in you and you need to believe in yourself.
