An empty cup can't fill another vessel.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
"Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body."
Picture
Self-care isn’t just a trend. God wants us to love ourselves and take care of ourselves. I used to think that self-care meant taking a bath or getting a massage. That it was a little more frivolous and hedonistic, than godly. Until, I didn't take care of myself and then, I quickly realized taking care of my body, mind and spirit was being a good steward of what God has given me.

It’s been super trendy lately, and the more I research, the more I realize our body  is a God-given gift. He wants us to take care of ourselves. Remember, an empty cup can’t fill another vessel.

Since October of 2020 I really haven't stopped. All my reasons are valid, but it does not change the fact that I am, and you are human, and therefore we need rest. The New Year is quickly approaching and I want to make it my best year yet, and I know you do too. This being said, starting today at 4 PM and ending at Noon on Wednesday of this week I am going into a period of rest. That means, no blog or phone calls.

Then, beginning January 1st through the 21st we will be doing a 21 Day Fast. Remember, set your intention and the "How too?" will follow. If you would like to participate you can call our office at 304-292-7283 and request, "The Fasting Journal." It explains what a fast is, the types and the reasons and ways to fast. The fast will end January 22nd at 6 PM.

Picture
ACTION STEP: If you are anything like me if it doesn't get on my calendar it doesn't get done.

Set times of rest and self-care on your calendar. Then keep that appointment with yourself.

I have an app on my phone that automatically comes up morning and night that has prayers for me to read. I find this helps me remember to take care of and nourish my spirit man, which triggers my mind to take care of my body too.

Do you want to live long enough to leave a legacy? Then, it will take hard work but it will also take self-care. Wen are a spirit. We live in a body and we possess a soul. Being a three part being, we must take care of all three components.

I will pick back up here on Thursday January 2, 2022.

The Gift of Jesus Christ

1 Corinthians 13:1-13
"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.  And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.  Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;  does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails."

Picture
Christmas is a time we remember what really is most important to us. The enemy of our souls tries to get in our way and take our focus off LOVE and put it on SELF. When the focus is on us we filter everything through selfishness. The rememedy for  selflishness is selflessness. Only God can clean our filter. This Christmas Day let others be our focus. Speak all 5 of the Love Languages. Let LOVE be the gift that everyone wants and allow yourself to be the giver.

ACTION STEP: Take time today to unwrap the greatest gift ever given--the gift of Love. The Gift of Jesus Christ is the greatest because it never fails. Love fits all sizes and styles and it gives today and everyday throughout eternity.

Wrap yourself up in love and give yourself to the world.

Stop the hustle and bustle.

James 1:4 The Message
"Don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its perfect work so you become mature and well developed."

Picture
When our inside world can mirror our outside world there is hustle and bustle or peace and calm. What I am trying to say is, if we feel like we are less than, not good enough, busy--but making no headway or difference, we often live our life on the outside just the same as the way we live on the inside. We are constantly striving but not achieving. Working but never resting. And, performing for acceptance and love is no way to live. Performers get tired. And, when we are tired even small things can be big agitations, and seem overwhelming.

This being Christmas Eve I am praying that the gift you get, is the gift you give yourself--peace and acceptance. That you would feel calm. That you would be able to be yourself. That this year you would have direction. That if you need a coach, you would take the next step and go to my website and get started in 2022 with become a new you.

ACTION STEP: Whenever our life is out of order and things are chaotic, it helps to know who we are and that we are not powerless. Having been abandoned myself, I often felt overwhelmed and well--frantic. It wasn't until I got a coach, which was my first step in healing and wholeness, that I came face to face with myself. Once I worked with my coach for awhile the truth came out, I had some woundedness that needed healed. My woundedness affected my relationships, which affected everything else including my finances, my health and well-being. I was easily agitated when things were out of order and chaotic. Life isn't always clean and neat. Our surroundings are sometimes messy-life is messy. But, when our interior world is out of order we can bring peace from our inside, to our outside. Our presence can bring peace and order to others lives too.

Need help? Let me take you on the journey that I am on myself. I'm not so far ahead that I don't understand how you feel. I can relate. I can help. Once you've received help, you can start helping others.

Make your appointment now at www.renaperozich.com

I believe in you and you need to believe in yourself.  Merry Christmas Eve.

John 15:5
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."

Picture
Everytime I go to my Condo I drive through the Carolina's and more often than not I stop at the vineyards. Shelton is my favorite. I learn something new about Jesus the Vine. My most recent epiphany was the roses. Roses were at the end of every row. Yellow, red, pink all in perfect bloom. I wondered if I was at a garden or a vineyard. During my visit I spoke to the vinedresser and he shared with me that the roses will get attacked first. One of the ways the vinedressers know that they must protect the vine is that the Roses are attacked by an enemy. They immediately go to protecting the Roses. Jesus the Rose of Sharon takes the attack for us but gives us the victory. Why? Because we are the fruit and through us the world can taste and see that God is good.

Set your intention.

1 Chronicles 22:19
"Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the LORD your God. Begin to build the sanctuary of the LORD God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the sacred articles belonging to God into the temple that will be built for the Name of the LORD.”

Picture
Notice in the scripture above it tells us to devote our heart and soul. When we do this other things start to line up in our lives. My coach says it this way, "Set your intention and the (How to?) will follow" Dr. Keith Johnson. When I first got my coach I truly did not have the finances to pay for the program I wanted. But, I decided what I wanted-I set my intentions and literally the (How to) followed. I even asks my pastor to help make my husband pay for it and she said, "I think it would be good for you to have to believe for the funds." Darn, I thought for sure she would take my side. However, I'm glad she didn't because my faith soared in my believing for the funds. God showed up! I was able to pay the bill and send offerings! Praise be to God.

Back in 2011, Pastor Andy Stanley wrote a book, called, “The Principle of the Path: How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be” He said, that Proverbs is about “The road you’re on determines where you’ll end up.” This means we all need to get on the highway of faith that leads us to our dream and desire in accordance with God's will for our life.

ACTION STEP: What is the desire of your heart? What is it that you are believing God for? Set your intention. Prepare yourself as if it is already done. Buy the 3 ring binder. Order the book. Do something that will take you in the direction that you desire mind, body and soul. God will give you the desires of your heart. Build the sanctuary and then the arc (presence and favor of God) will be brought into the equation. (1 Chronicles 22:19)

Psalm 32:8
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you."

Picture
To know where you are going, you have to first know where you are. In the field, when you are lost, there is a method to finding where you are. The method is called “triangulation”. You are essentially trying to make a triangle on the map, with your location being one point, and two other landmarks serving as the other two points of the triangle.

How can you identify your long-term goals? On a sheet of paper or in a notebook, write these five questions:
  1. What do I want to do?
  2. Who do I want to be?
  3. What do I want to see?
  4. What do I want to have?
  5. Where do I want to go?
Under each of these categories, write down several possible long-term goals. Be very relaxed about this. Just allow your mind to flow and come up with three to six ideas for each category. Don’t worry about a lot of details at this point, and don’t spend too much time describing a particular goal.

Any goal is a powerful motivator only if there’s a powerful reason behind it. Why do you want to achieve your goals? Why do you want to own a handmade furniture store, or a private airplane, or a newspaper in a small town in Vermont? Why do you want to compete in a triathlon, or visit the Australian outback, or be the first woman in your family to earn a Ph.D.?

Write down your reasons for wanting each goal in the same degree of detail that you used to write your descriptions. If you can’t find a clear and convincing reason for each of your 16 goals, do some serious re-evaluating. You might have more whims or pipe dreams than real goals, and now is the right time to make that discovery.

Keep working on your list until you have 16 clearly envisioned, strongly motivating long-term goals. At regular intervals, review what you’ve written, and keep careful track of your progress toward these objectives.

Above all, persevere! Goal setting is a very important first step, but goal achievement is a continuous, lifelong process. That’s what makes it so challenging. That’s also why it’s so extremely rewarding to finally attain your long-term goals.
Most of this taken from article by Jim Rohn.

Colossians 1:17 (NIV) "He is before all things, and in him all things hold together."
Picture
There is something we frontload for the Christian life, and then spend the rest of our days exploring and going deeper in: it is the “word” or “message” about Jesus, God’s incarnate Word. Simply put, the focal point and center of our lifelong learning is the person and work of Christ. All things are in him, through him, and for him (Colossians 1:17).

When we say “learners,” we don’t mean of mere facts, information, and head knowledge. We mean all that and more. We don’t just learn facts, but we learn a Face. We’re not just learners of principles, but of a Person. We are lifelong learners in relationship with Jesus as we hear his voice in his word and have his ear in prayer, and share in community with his body, all through the power of his Spirit.

And one of the chief ways we know his person more is by learning more about his work for us. Not only are we “rooted and grounded” in Christ’s love for us at Calvary, but we press on “to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that [we] may be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:17–19).

The heart of lifelong learning that is explicitly Christian is not merely digging deeper in the seemingly bottomless store of information there is to learn about the world and humanity and history, but plunging into the infinite flood of Christ’s love, and how it all comes back to this, in its boundless breath and length and height and depth, and seeing everything else in its light. The center of lifelong learning for the Christian is knowing God himself in Christ through the gospel word and the written word of the Scriptures — in the hearing and reading and study and meditation and memorization of the Bible.

But, we can also learn so much from authors and teachers that write books and produce materials to help us along the journey. In fact I wrote a book on Marriage called, "Moments that Matter." It is a 40 Day devotional that would make a great gift to your spouse, parents or friends. Check it out at

1 Corinthians 9:24
"Know ye not that those who run in a race all run, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain it."

Crazy as it may sound, to those of you that know me, I walked my first 5K. Yes, I walked. I know. I know. I started running after the birth of my third child to get into shape, and truly never really stopped. Until now. I tore my meniscus and had surgery. I am better, but not well. I decided to do what I can do. Teach. So, all summer I trained my grandsons to run. I taught them how to use their arms. I taught them how to stay focused on the finish line. Well, Tuesday night they shined. Even though I made them take breaks, (so I could take pictures) so, their lungs could recover, they still had a great time. Children's lung are much smaller, and they can't run as fast as they will in their thirties. Nevertheless, run they did. I am so proud of them.

Now, here is the rest of the story. My friend registered us. I procrastinated. I wanted to run. Unbeknownst to me, I was sabotaging myself. Why? Because I couldn't see. I was too close to the forest to see the tree. I could only see me running. My friend suggested we take the grandsons and make it about them. That was something I'd not thought of. She saw the run from different eyes. Sometimes, we need another set of eyes.

So today, I want to be a legacy leaver not just a line crosser. When my race is done it is souls I desire to have won, not medals that will be left behind.

Here is the link to the video below:
https://youtu.be/Am6kkqi2aRo
ACTION STEP: Ask a friend or pastor or a coach what you might not be seeing. A different set of eyes can often open up a whole new world. We were all blind to our Savior until someone opened our eyes. It is that way in other areas of our life as well. Perhaps, this year you can help someone by sharing the eye opening revelation of Jesus.

If you need help seeing your dream with new eyes check out a coaching session with me at www.renaperozich.com and schedule a coaching session. Perhaps, ask for a three month or 6 month coaching package for Christmas. A gift of coaching cn change your life forever.

I believe in you and you need to believe in yourself!
