Hold onto your dreams.

Genesis 37:6-7 NIV
"He said to them, “Listen to this dream I had:  We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it.”
Genesis 37:9 NIV
"Then he had another dream, and he told it to his brothers. “Listen,” he said, “I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.”

Picture
Joseph had heard from God. He now had a purpose, or a vision, for his life, even if it wasn’t received by others. You were created for a divine purpose as well! God may not speak to you through a dream, but if you will become determined to know His plan for your life, He will reveal it to you. As long as you can live without knowing His will for your life, you will.

If you’re not fulfilled in what you’re doing, even if things seem to be going well, don’t wait any longer; don’t settle for anything less than knowing God’s purpose for your life. The Bible makes it very clear in Ephesians 5:17 where it says, “Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”

Not only will the pursuit of your vision bring fulfillment, it will keep you on track. Joseph’s vision kept him on track during very difficult times and when faced with great temptation.
Proverbs 29:18 says it this way, “Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint”

Your God-given dream, or purpose, will inspire you, motivate you, and help restrain your flesh in the absence of any evidence that it’s coming to pass. And don’t be surprised if some of your fiercest opposition comes from those close to you. It did for Joseph.

Picture
Genesis 39:2 is one of my favorite verses in all of Scripture because it defies the logic of Joseph’s circumstances. It says, “And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.”
God’s Word declares that Joseph was “a prosperous man.” This was at a time in his life when He was serving as a slave! His own brothers had sold him into slavery and told his father he was dead. No longer the wealthy, well-dressed, favorite son, Joseph found himself on an auction block in a foreign land, stripped of everything—including his clothes. His rich Egyptian master stood beside him with all of the extravagance that came with abundant wealth, but the Bible forever records Joseph as being the truly prosperous one.

God views prosperity much differently than we do! Material things are not indicative of prosperity. True prosperity is knowing that God is with you. True prosperity is keeping His vision alive in your heart. True prosperity is not wealth itself but God’s favor, anointing, and power that work in your life to obtain it. Deuteronomy 8:18 says, “Thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant.”
Joseph believed he was prosperous because he knew prosperity came from God, not man. He had an image on the inside that was not affected by circumstance, and it enabled Joseph to operate in faith. Instead of licking his wounds and complaining, Joseph served others and ministered wholeheartedly to their needs. As he diligently labored, God blessed the work of his hands.
If Joseph could do it, so can you. You have the same power dwelling on the inside of you that raised Jesus from the dead. Joseph didn’t have that. Begin to see yourself as God sees you, a prosperous person, regardless of your physical circumstances. Recognize and acknowledge the fact that God is with you, that you are anointed and highly favored. Serve others with all your heart as unto the Lord. Eliminate murmuring and complaining, and replace them with praise and thankfulness, knowing God will complete what He has begun in your life.

ACTION STEP: I look forward to sharing with you what I am learning about the life of Joseph. The journey that God is taking me on through the entire tribe of Israel. Read Genesis chapters 37-41. Then, stay with me all week as we break it down and look closely at what the Lord is wanting to share with us, His people in this day and hour. Make a list of what you are really good at. Ask others what they think you are really good at. Then, ask God to give you a plan for your life, a dream you can hang on to.

Genesis 50:20 NKJV
"But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive."

Picture
Many people including those of our own family may or may not be as excited as you and I are, about what God has in store for our life. In our immaturity and excitement we tend to share more information than we should with people we shouldn't. Such is the case with Joseph. But God! God always works all things for good for those that love Him and have been called according to His purpose. We have been called. Each of you reading this today. You have been, past tense called.
Picture
Your dreams make you different. Your past brings experience. Your present brings action, but your future brings hope. This board meeting of three is designed to help your present-self know what to do today. It's easy to look at Joseph's brothers and immediately cast stones at them for hating their brother. However, the Holy Spirit has an incredible way of tilting the mirror of His word in our view, where we can see ourself loud and clear, and conclude with, "I am just like them." Our natural DNA is the same as our brothers.
ACTION STEP: Joseph had to start dreaming to be set apart from his brothers because he represented the future and for a while he was going to be developed. Joseph needed the counsel of Jacob to sustain him during the slave times. In the same way the Holy Spirit talks to our spirits and shares divine mysteries, that our minds and our hearts don't know about. Speak your dream: it positions you to have the energy to journey to your destiny. God engages people to speak; "Adam where are you?", "Elijah why are you here?" Jacob rebuked Joseph's saying, but he didn't ignore it either. Let the Holy Spirit have his way in your life as He whispers truth and mysteries into your life. Sometimes it's not the exposure of our heart that's convincing, but the exposure of our fruit.

I guess I duplicated love yesterday?

8/13/2020

As I was preparing to write my Blog this morning I noticed I wrote two action steps yesterday--guess I was duplicatable. I laughed as I read it. I truly did not do this on purpose. As I thought on what I'd done the Lord spoke so clearly, "I want my people to do double duty right now. The time is short. There is no time to waste and sit idol.
Picture
As we return to our story on Joseph we find that even in the pit, and on into Egypt as a slave, there was no idol time in Joseph. He was constantly working and doing more than, what was required of him. He was found faithful in all he did. He found favor with those who were over him. Even though he was wrongly accused, he reviled not. The devil wants us to duplicate him. He plants evil thoughts in hope that we will grow wicked and then cause our example to be duplicated in others. Don't do it! Let the Joseph in you silence the voices of the other brothers. We must beware of the Reuben in us. Reuben represents the soul. The soul houses your intellect, emotions, and feelings. Our soul is a very important part of who we are. Common sense, the ability to sympathize, get angry, cry, mourn, drive a car, make judgement calls on what to say, wear, or work, all come from our soul. Listening to our soul will land us in a pit that goes from bad to worse.

Tune in this Sunday on Facebook Live as I share a message on the 12 tribes of Israel and their importance of each of them in our lives today. Transforming Jacob to Israel in you, "The Joseph Anointing," at 9AM RCI Media.
Picture
On the other hand when we love, with the love of the Father it duplicates and multiplies love in and for others too. People followed Jesus everywhere he went. Whatever, Jesus needed--be it healing, forgiveness, life, deliverance...He had it; because He had love. He is love. Love never fails.
Picture
ACTION STEP:  Tune in Sunday morning at 9AM to You Tube (RCI Media) and hear about all of Joseph's brothers. A good book to purchase, is the same title by Victoria Scott. Until then, love and forgive. Put yourself in Joseph's shoes. When your brothers arise against your dream, keep hold of it. They may steal your coat but they can't steal your dream. Your God given dream will see you through the process to commander of the resources! The famine is coming. Fear not. Learn to rule the Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Zebulun, Issachar, Dan, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Benjamin and even the Joseph within you, for you are a complete Israel that will win many battles, and claim a land for your inheritance as a whole.

Love duplicates.

Genesis 12:1-3

The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.

“I will make you into a great nation,
    and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
    and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
    will be blessed through you.”

Picture
Think on this statement for a moment. Without Abraham, there is no Joseph, there is no Israel, there is no us. Abraham is where Israel began. At the time he was called his name was Abram (a highly respected father) but later, God changed his name to Abraham (the father of many), when He revealed his calling and destiny God changed his name. When God revealed his destiny and calling, Abraham lined up with his calling and the everlasting covenant God has with him. Your name matters, even if it is not a name you love, like Jabez ask God to enlarge you.
Picture
Abraham's father Terah was on his way to Canaan when he lost his son Haran, so he settles in Haran, on his way to Canaan. When we loose someone dear to us we often settle. Even though losing someone or something we love, or that matters to us we must never settle for less than God's best for us. Holding on to what was dear to us and what we lost can never make us happy again. Terah died in Haran he never made it to the promise land. Then, in Genesis 12 the Lord called Abram to leave Haran and continue to God's destination for him--the promised land.

We humans are an expression of the mind of God. John Maxwell says, "a good leader duplicates himself." Therefore, God being the ultimate leader, the leader of leaders (better known as the King of Kings), will duplicate himself in us--who are created in His image. God chose humans to carry His blessings. Love duplicates.
Picture
Are you duplicatable? When God saw a famine coming in the future He remembered His covenant with Abraham. God could have stopped it with a word but He graciously uses people, you and me. God raised Joseph us for such a time to be used as a conduit of God's glory. It is an honor to be processed for the promise. Ask Joseph. Pray the Lord would use you as God's conduit for the miraculous, supernatural and extraordinary.
ACTION STEP: Forever strong and forever faithful He is enough for us. All our life He is enough for us. He made you in His image. You are important. If there is one thing you must know is that He loves you so. Get out of Haran, there is a Promised Land awaiting you. I think Terah settled because he couldn't get past a big hurt in his life. Scripture tells us that Terah's son Haran died before they left. Leave the place of death and loss in your life and press on to what God has promised you. Then, as you are traveling be duplicating yourself in others. He is more than enough to empower you to do what He has called you to do, become and travel to.

Holding onto a dream is a life saving act.

Acts 2:17 KJV
"
In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams."

Picture
Don't expect everyone around you to understand your dreams, especially since the word of God says, that no eye has seen what God is about to do; but the Holy Spirit is revealing it to you. Only Mary (not even the disciples had received the assignment to pour oil on Jesus) knew that her purpose was to anoint the feet of Jesus. Alabaster box worship is a very lonely worship. The moment Joseph mentioned to is his father his 2nd dream about the 11 stars , the sun and the moon bowing down to him he began his journey of the alabaster box worship. To Mary, she was pouring her love on Jesus because her heart , the real alabaster box, was already broken for him and poured on him. So, pouring her perfune was an outward expression of what had happened inwardly. Don't expect people tom be able to understand what they can't see.
Picture
Holding onto a dream is a life saving act. The dream Joseph had held him close to God in the pit, as a slave in Egypt and as a prisoner in a dungeon. God is giving us dreams and visions to keep us alive and motivated when we truly feel like giving up.

The reality if Joseph's situation was concrete evidence that presented Joseph the opportunity to think it was over; but his alabaster box worship was speaking louder than his trial and kept him pressing forward.
Picture
ACTION STEP: Never let go of your dreams. If God spoke it, if He showed it to you, hold on. Your dream will keep you pressing through unbelief and doubt. No one will understand your alabaster box worship that was poured out in the privacy of your relationship with your Father, wearing your coat of many colors, and your brothers laughing, jeering and even leaving you for dead. Your dream will cause you to rise above the circumstances of your coat of many colors being shredded and dipped in blood.

Decoding the DNA of God in our life. Finding your coat bloody but staying alive!

Genesis 37:3-4
"Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours. And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him."
Picture
We are made in the image of God. God's DNA is on the inside of us. I'd like to use the story of Joseph to illustrate this. We are given gifts (his coat of many colors symbolic of his multi-talents and gifts and the favoritism toward him from his Father). Then, we are tested beyond what we think we can endure and rejected and betrayed by people we love. Yet, we forge ahead doing the best we can with the situations in which we find ourselves.

This week I have experienced multiple challenges getting this Blog to post. At this moment I am using the hotel computer (during COVID) which is like getting into Fort Knox. I can only be on so long, and then it shuts me off. I can't post images. But, I am forging on. If this is my Pit so be it.

Wherever you find yourself today, keep going. Don't quit. Character is being developed at a deeper level. If you are like me, and have a spirit of excellence I know how frustrating this can be. You want excellence. You want to fulfill the expectations you put on yourself. I get it.

Joseph went through much before his dream became a reality. When his dream did come into the seen realm, it was just as he had dreamed.

Join me all week, as I share with you what I am learning from the life of Joseph. I will soon be back to my normal, and we will both look forward to this timely Blog with images, delivered on time.

Picture
Action Step: Today, press through your obstacles. Press through the enemies plans for your life. Your coat of many colors may get a little bloody--but you and I will survive, and even thrive! We are not just survivors, we are thrivers in whatever circumstances we find ourselves.

A conduit of God's glory.

Genesis 50:20 NIV
"You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives."

Picture
Nothing takes God by surprise, never has, never will. God saw a famine coming in the future and remembered His covenant with Abraham. He could have personally with His own hand prevented the famine from happening; with one word or sending Jesus Christ early to prevent it. He could have summoned angels to take care of it, but, he chose to involve people. He raised up Joseph. Joseph was to be His conduit of Glory. Just as He chose to involve people then, He is choosing to involve people now. You and I are His choices, for miraculous, supernatural extraordinary intervention in to the happenings of our day.
Picture
It's always about God. Nothing takes Him by surprise, catches him off guard, or stuns Him. Nothing is impossible for Him and obstacles are just added ingredients for miracles. God takes His image, His dreams, His love, His forgiveness and places them inside of us like He did Joseph, like He did Esther, like He did David--for such a time as this. There is power in our serve. We are all called to be servants. It is in our serving that God's glory is manifested on this earth. Let Him flow through you.
Picture
In the book "21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership" by John Maxwell he says, "a good leader duplicates himself." Therefore, God being the ultimate leader, the leader of leaders (better known as the King of kings), will duplicate himself and operate through His image on earth.

ACTION STEP: Be the conduit. Be dublicateable. Be available. Tell God you are willing to be used. As God's image is forged in you--forge His image in others by all you say and do. Model your Maker. What was in Joseph was exposed for the Glory of God.

Philippians 3:14 NIV
"
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
Picture
Yesterday, the adversary of my life was determined to keep me agitated and defeated. I made a choice to stay calm. Things kept coming my way, get gas, car needs oil, gas station closed, pump won't give receipt, tire pressure low, need to turn around hazard spill on highway...and on it went. Then, my plane was delayed for over an hour. I just kept telling myself, "God is in control." In the end, all was well. God saw me through. My contentment is based on God's ability to take care of me not my own ability. I truly believe the Word of God. When I am about His (God's) business, He is about mine!
Picture
This morning it all started again. I have stayed at hotels all over the world and rarely in the states do I have issues with computer connections. Today, at one of the best hotels for internet connections the war began again. I know that I am on a mission. I hear the Lord say, "When my people, called by My name, are on a mission for me, I will see them through!" God is faithful to His word. There is a confidence that comes when you are in complete obedience and submission to the Lord. There is a grease in your gears if you will, for the long haul and the step hills in this journey. Just keep forging ahead. Stay calm and keep going.
Picture
ACTION STEP: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” The Good News: Keep going, no matter what other people say. Your one true companion throughout life is God and He will never abandon you. Stay the course. Forge ahead. Persevere!

Growing faith during a crisis~Shout the walls down!

Psalm 31:14
“But as for me, I
trust in You, O LORD, I say, “You are my God.”
Psalm 33:21
“For our heart rejoices in Him, because we
trust in His holy name.”
Psalm 56:3
“When I am afraid, I will put my
trust in You.”
Psalm 56:11
“In God I have put my
trust, I shall not be afraid.
Picture
Faith does not wait for the walls to fall down.
Faith shouts them down.
Picture
ACTION STEP: The people marched around, blew the trumpets, and raised a great shout. (Joshua 6) What happened then? The walls came down. Was it because there was an earthquake? No, it was their faith in believing what the Lord said to do. They put action with their faith and were obedient. At the right moment, they SHOUTED.

Shout down your walls today. Don't let obstacles keep you from doing what God has called you to do.

When we least feel like proclaiming a shout of praise and victory about our trials and circumstances, that is the time to do it. We must say what God has said and speak to that wall or mountain in our lives and watch it crumble. SPEAKING and SHOUTING are the actions we need to do. It is our response to what we believe in our hearts to be true. This is the key to seeing the walls fall.

God told Joshua that he had given him the city and how long it would take to possess it. Do we give up too soon when we are waiting on a situation to change? We need to remember to keep on believing. When God reveals the time for your victory, you can shout. His timing is perfect.

Give Him your first.

Psalm 63:1a, NKJV
“O GOD, You are my God; Early will I seek You”

In this
scripture, the psalmist David proclaims, “Early will I seek You,” and we can apply his declaration to our own lives on several different levels. First of all, we should remember to seek the Lord early each day.
Picture
I have been developing a new discipline for the last several months. It is the discipline of giving God my first. I give God my first words, my first reading and my first listening. Today however, I missed it! Wonder why? It was because two little men age six and four tackled me awake with a loud, "Nonna." They don't know the slightest thing about Proverbs 27:14.
Picture
Just as I was getting ready to condemn myself I heard the Father so lovingly say, "I love it when my children shout my name and rush into my presence." Condemnation over! I could just imagine for a moment my loving Father opening His arms to embrace me, His child. I remembered how my earthly fathers arms would hold me close. How my father always smelled so good. I remembered how safe I always felt in my Daddy's arms. God our Father wants us to run to Him. He loves us no matter how we enter His presence, He welcomes us.
Picture
So, today He didn't get my first words, my first reading or my first listening; but I got His presence and love anyway. There is no magic steps or words to get His presence. There is no formula for hearing Him speak, but this I know--He comes where He is wanted, welcomed and worshipped.
ACTION STEP: Take an inventory of your life. Do you want Him, I mean really want Him in your life? Is He welcomed into your presence? Is your life open at all times for Him to just run in, shout your name, and jump into your current situation day or night? Are you a worshipper?
John 4:23-24
“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and truth.”

Turn this on and spend some time worshipping the Lord. Give Him your first words, reading and listening everyday...and when that doesn't happen? Worship Him anyway!
